me parece que julio jr lo venden como que si fuera un super dotado del ring un nuevo julio cesar chavez pero la verdad es que no dudo que sea campeon algun dia pero de eso a que sea un fuera de serie para nada lo mas que le puede asegurar a cualquier persona en este foro es que no pasara de ser un ramon campas asi de facil no sera la gran cosa este julio jr ese es mi pronostico el sera campeon pero no un gran campeon.

por otro lado margarito antes de cumplir 19 años ya tenia las tres derrotas eso porque no tenia un promotor, asi de facil si ven como han llevado a julio jr esta invicto pero para nada es mejor a margarito en realidad si margarito en esos años tenia un promotor estaria invicto o por lo menos tendria una derrota la de williams la de santos lo la cuento porque fue en un escenario que no era neutral y ademas que el señor santos era de lo mas sucio que he visto en mi vida.

Julitin a pasado por categorias ligero, welter y superwelter, nunca lo han puesto a pelear con lo mejor de la categoria, por lo tanto es apresurado decir que sera Campeon si todavia no ha sido probado con los buenos(tal vez hasta pueda ser nokeado de forma humillante).

JC Jr tiene mucho potencial es cuestion de tiempo para demostrarlo. DLH siempre pierde con los buenos no es nada tonto.

Lo de Julito jr. es cuestion de tiempo, recordemos que el no tuvo carrera amateur, y los buenos rivales llegaran a su devido tiempo, y yo estoy seguro de que ahora mismo Chavez jr. derrotaria a gente de la taya de Ricardo Mayorga, Sergio Mora, o Joel Julio, pero aun no lo van poner con ellos, pero iniciando el 2009, llegaran esas peleas, hay gente que jusga muy a la ligera al jr., yo los invito para que miren la forma como se para en el ring Chavez jr., como saca el gancho al higado, su oper en corto, y su cruzado de derecha, y ya esta aprendiendo a cabecear, y pelear en reversa, y sobre todo, el aguante que ha demostrado, se ha comido tremendos golpes, y los ha aguantado a pie firme, y su pegada es otra de sus virtudes, pega como patada de mula, y pese a sus 39 peleas no deja de ser un novato, no lo jusguen a la ligera, Julito tiene talento, y el 2009 lo veran en plan grande..

After taking a look at Antonio Margarito\'s recent statements with respect to a welterweight unification bout with Paul Williams, BoxingScene.com was contacted by Williams\' manager/trainer George Peterson, who wanted nothing more than to clear the air.

Margarito, and co-manager Sergio Diaz, recently told BoxingScene that after Williams won a unanimous decision over Margarito in July of 2007, Williams turned down their immediate rematch request and they were forced to petition the WBO to place Margarito in mandatory position. I was provided with a copy of the petition letter that was sent to the WBO after Margarito\'s defeat.

According to Diaz, the WBO turned down their request for an immediate rematch and gave Williams permission to make an optional defense before such a rematch could take place. Margarito says that he waited on the sidelines for months and was forced to take a keep-busy fight against Golden Johnson last November because Williams did not return to the ring until February of this year. Because Margarito feels that he was forced to wait, he now wants to make Williams wait.

Peterson disputes what Margarito and Diaz had to say about last year\'s events, telling BoxingScene that it was Margarito and his team who turned down an immediate rematch, but he doesn\'t want to argue about what happened in the past, he wants to focus on making the rematch in the present.

\"Who cares who turned down who, or who made who wait - we are ready to fight right now. Rick, we don\'t want to do this on the internet. They want to do this on the internet. Paul just wants to spank that butt,\" Peterson said. \"If there was one more round in the first fight, Paul would have knocked him out. Paul offered him a rematch and every time Paul fights he asks for Margarito again. We\'ve been asking for Margarito for three-and-a-half years. Margarito never mentions Paul Williams. All he has to do is call Paul\'s name. He never does that. He avoids that. Paul asks for him all the time. Paul is asking for him right now. \"

The history between Margarito and Williams dates back to their infamous sparring sessions from a few years ago. Both fighters have completely different versions of what actually happened, but the gym history was the fuel behind the hype for the first fight. Peterson maintains that Williams was brought in to spar with Margarito for a month, but due to his man-handling of Margarito, he was paid in full and sent home after a week.

\"Sergio and [co-manager] Francisco [Espinoza] are great people. They treated us well. Paul was touching him every single day. He couldn\'t do nothing with Paul. Only one day he was able to touch Paul. They paid him and sent him home after a week because he was beating Margarito up,\" Peterson said. \"They know they can\'t do anything with Paul Williams and his management knows that too. Why do you think it took so long for the fight to get made the first time? They tried everything to get out of it. Paul was asking for him when nobody under the sun was asking for him. They said he was the most feared welterweight in the world and Paul beat him decisively.\"

As of late, Margarito has been on a \"Golden\" hunt, stating his case on why he should land the fight with Oscar De La Hoya on December 6 in Las Vegas. Peterson says Margarito should move on because De La Hoya will never fight him. And, he says Margarito\'s status at the weight has been built on the shoulders of \"eight-round\" fighters, which is why he believes that Williams will always give him trouble. Peterson doesn\'t feel Margarito is able to beat a fighter who can box and doesn\'t get tired.

\"Oscar will never fight him. He needs to get over. It will never happen. Let Oscar go and fight Golden Johnson again. When it comes to a competitive fight, he ain’t going to fight. Paul Williams is a twelve-round fighter. He made Margarito do something that nobody else made him do - back up. Paul ain\'t no eight-round fighter like [Miguel] Cotto. Cotto is an eight-round fighter. He was fading at the end of the fight with Mosley. But, Cotto was winning the fight with Margarito when he boxed. He was winning until he ran out of gas, and so was [Joshua] Clottey until he got hurt,\" Peterson said.

\"That\'s what makes him look so dynamic. He fights eight-round fighters and it makes him look like he brings all this pressure. He said he lost the fight with Paul because he started slow, well he started slower with Cotto than he did with Paul. The man is naturally slow. He is slow because he wants to clob people with that wide stance. We wants to put a spanking on him so bad.\"

A few weeks ago, Williams and his team actually traveled out to Margarito\'s backyard of California to push for a rematch by holding a press conference event with members of the media. Williams\' promoter Dan Goossen offered Margarito a guarantee of $4 million dollars for the rematch, more money than Margarito has made for any of his previous fights.

\"Why do you think we went to California? Paul wants to knock him out and his team knows that Paul will knock him out. Margarito has five losses, he\'s one loss away from being an opponent. One more loss and he\'s out of the boxing game. He can\'t take another loss. Paul spanked his butt the first time in the gym, he spanked his butt the second time in the ring and this will be his third whipping,\" Peterson said.

If Margarito is not able to lure Oscar to the dance, and there is almost no chance of that, he will probably face Clottey in a rematch on November 1. Williams, unless he is able to secure Margarito, will probably fight his mandatory, Michael Jennings. The bad blood between Williams\' advisor Al Haymon, and Margarito\'s promoter Bob Arum, will make the negotiations process very difficult. As they say in the sport of boxing - money fixes everything.

yo creo que julio lo noquea en 7 rounds. Creo que el muchacho se debe sebtir mal siendo que tiene una gran responsabilidad de llevar un nombre legedario del boxeo y no tener un nivel como el de su padre.

yo tengo la certeza de que Julito es mas que el colombiano Joel Julio, y espero que se haga esa pelea, como les digo, no coman ancias, si no le pudieron ganar, y derrivarlo en su mas reciente pelea subiendo enfermo al ring, imaginenselo al 100%, ademas, si Joel Julio fuese tam bueno, ? porque no pudo con Carlos Quintana ?, digan lo que digan, Julio Cesar Chavez sigue invicto, y esas peleas llegaran, y tapara vocas, porque un peleador que pega y aguanta, y ademas tiene un aseptable boxeo, y un buen repertorio de golpes, tiene futuro..

Han dicho que Julitin es un cobarde, pero no lo creo tan asi, mas bien creo que es un niñito mimado.

No es que el no quiera enfrentarse a los buenos, mas bien son los manejadores y su padre los que lo estan cuidando en exceso(Si inclusive este ultimo nisiquiera queria que fuera boxeador), por eso le escogen rivales a medida.

Con respecto a una pelea con Julio, creo que se la lleva el colombiano que es mas duro, dicen "si Joel Julio fuese tam bueno, ? porque no pudo con Carlos Quintana ?"...Quintana es un muy buen boxeador, pero nunca estara en la cima porque si le conectan un buen golpe se derrumba, pero si no pueden darle ese golpe mortal creo que se boxea a cualquier welter de hoy en dia(incluso a Margarito).

Por esta razon creo que una pelea entre Joel Julio y Julitin se la lleva el colombiano, ya que Julitin es un tronco en el ring.

Promoter Dan Goossen contacted BoxingScene.com this morning to provide additional details into last year's negotiations for a rematch between Antonio Margarito and Paul Williams [promoted by Goossen], and the reason why Williams sat out until February of this year.

This is where it gets a little tricky.

After Williams won a decision over Margarito last July, one of the first people to call him out was then IBF champion Kermit Cintron. It wasn't long before Goossen and Main Events [Cintron's promoters at the time], began talks for a potential unification bout. Cintron was originally scheduled to appear on the September 8 undercard to Vargas-Mayorga, taking a tune-up bout before a tentative return on December 1 on Showtime.

After Vargas was diagnosed with anemia, the entire event was postponed until November 23. Cintron won a tougher than expected fight with Jesse Feliciano, injured his hand and pulled out from the agreed upon unification bout with Williams, scheduled for a February date on HBO.

According to Goossen, when he learned that Cintron had pulled out, he contacted Margarito's promoter Bob Arum, who told him that he was not interested in making the rematch. More than likely, Arum at that point was already laying out the plans for a 2008 mid-year showdown between Margarito and Miguel Cotto. Goossen tried to secure other big names, like Zab Judah and Shane Mosley, but Carlos Quintana was the only fighter who agreed to fight Williams.

"Paul wanted to unify the titles. Cintron suffered a hand injury so I reached out to Bob Arum to ask about Margarito and he said 'no.' Eventually it went over to a February date with Quintana, but Paul wanted Margarito. Nobody wanted to step in the ring with Paul, not Margarito, not Zab Judah, Cintron or Shane Mosley," Goossen said.

"We've offered him a lot of money, $4 million dollars guaranteed with an upside. His biggest purse was made with us, $1.6 million for the fight with Paul. He only made $1.5 against Cotto. We are offereing him $4 million and he's probably going to make a quarter of that for a fight with [Joshua] Clottey. They can spin it any way they want, but they are taking a few millions less to fight Clottey. The same with Cintron, he fought Margarito for a few hundred thousand and there was a million on the table to fight Paul."

CAZAMAN, siempre con tus comentarios fuera de lugar, por si no lo sabias Quintana se boxeo muy bien al verdugo de Margarito(que por lo demas hizo lucir muy torpe a Margarito), inclusive se dice que en una sesion de sparring Williams tumbo a Margarito(no dudo que pueda ser verdad), a este mismo boxeador (Williams), Quintana se lo boxeo muy inteligente en la primera pelea.

La revancha del Julito de llevarse a cabo será en L.A. Será por que acá en México le tiran de todo? Ya no causa tanta expectativa? La gente ya no se deja engañar?

La unica manera de convencer es que el Jr. pelea con alguien de renombre, lo derrote y se deje ya de esas...peleas baratas, que de nada le sirven. La expectativa que causan es ver que nuevas cosas le van a aventar desde las gradas.

Un error la revancha, todos vimos que gano claramente el Jr, pero desde mi punto de vista,la revancha es una buena excusa para que el retoño del gran campeon siga peleando con bultitos.
